I believe that he's here for the Slack Key Festival, which will bring Cyril Pahinui, Jeff Peterson, and other slack key wizards to Seattle.

Makana's hitting quite a few towns on his mainland tour which starts Nov 2: Napa, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and Nevada City CA, then Seattle, Santa Monica, San Diego and Santa Barbara.
