From George Kahumoku, Jr...
Aloha friends & Ohana,
I am writing you today to ask you to please join me in supporting and funding the preservation of Hawaiian Music. Dave Berry of Makai Studios and I are teaming up to film an all original documentary series call “The Masters of Hawaiian Music Film Series”. This new documentary series will preserve the stories of Hawaii’s most influential musicians, and will be an invaluable record for generations to come. I, George Kahumoku Jr., will serve as host in each film, while each featured artist and their peers will tell their story. The first two films of this series will feature Richard Ho'opi'i, Hawaii’s treasured ukulele and falsetto master, and Dennis Kamakahi, composer, slack key guitar master, and Hawaiian historian.
In three weeks 275 people have joined us and propelled us to 60% of our funding goal of $60,000. I need your help in obtaining the additional 40%. Both of these stories are truly worthy of documenting and with 22 days to go; we need to raise $25,000 more.- A $50 donation gets you both films on DVD, that’s just like pre ordering the films.
- A $100 donation gets you the DVDs and a signed series poster.
- A $1500 donation adds a signed Ukulele and a producer’s credit too at the end of the film!
- A $5000 donation adds a producer's credit in the beginning credits of the film, a private performance by George at your home on Maui or a Maui venue you provide, and/or a cameo in the film or credits.
Please get involved today!
