I found out on Twitter. He, Herb, & Keoki were just in Seattle a month-and-a-half ago. I can't believe it.

Shocked doesn't cover it. Found it on Uncle Dennis's facebook page. What's going on? Anyone know details? Nothing on Chino's facebook page.

Great guitarist and performer.

OMG & WTF!!! I too am quite shocked, what a nice guy...he always would stop and be so engaging to everyone he met...it was so cool to me that he was also Puerto Rican, it gave me extra motivation to play guitar like him....such a loss, I'm very saddened by this. His passing, along with Dennis, came so close together like Ray Kane & Auntie Genoa's passing...
Too much to handle for me. :-(
Cherish the moments with all of Hawaiian musical artists you meet, talk to, etc...no matter how brief.

I filmed this concert here, near Santa Cruz, less than two months ago and spent some time talking with Chino before and after the concert. I had first met him some years earlier when he was performing with Amy Hanaiali'i and I also filmed a concert when he performed at this same venue a couple of years ago with Keli'i Kaneali'i.

As you can see the three of them were having a great time on stage, largely because of Chino's fun loving personality and his awesome talent. He will be terribly missed by all that knew him. I am still in shock.

Thanks for sharing your videos, Norman. I have been enjoying them a lot lately.
