This coming year, the 2015 George Kahumoku Jr. Slack Key Guitar and 'Ukulele Workshop will be held on June 21-28 at the Napili Kai Beach Resort on Maui. This will be the 18th year of Uncle George's workshop, and once again will feature an outstanding instructor staff consisting of Hawaii's top slack key guitar and ukulele musicians. The tentative instructor lineup for 2015:
- George Kahumoku Jr. – guitar, songs
- Jeff Peterson – guitar, ukulele
- Herb Ohta Jr – ukulele
- Ledward Kaapana – guitar, ukulele
- Kevin Brown – guitar, songs
- Paul Togioka - guitar, ukulele
- Garret Probst - ukulele
- Joel Katz – Hawaiian steel guitar, ukulele
- Derick Sebastian – ukulele
- Jason Jerome – ukulele
- David Kamakahi - ukulele
- Brother Noland – guitar, songwriting
- Wainani Kealoha - hula, lei making
- Wendeanne Ke’aka Stitt – Kapa cloth design and making
Students at varying levels of experience can choose from several levels of classes, from beginning to advanced Hawaiian slack key guitar and ‘ukulele.
The workshop also provides students and spouses or partners with a variety of cultural activities and classes, such as lei and kapa cloth making, hula, Hawaiian songs and singing, song writing, song history, and lap steel guitar.
