There are a few seats still available for this Saturday's May 28th "Slack and Stories" at Hale Kipa in Long Beach.
Legendary Hawaiian story teller/comedian/radio host Kamaka Brown will be sharing memories in his inimitable Pidgin English style of growing up in pre-statehood Hawaii. I will be accompanying him "back porch style" with some slack-key guitar, and will play a few original tunes along the way.
We have done this type of show at the Coffee Gallery Backstage in Altadena, Kulak's Woodshed, and on tour in the Pacific Northwest.
E komo mai ("c'mon down") and join us for a unique evening of music and stories.
Hopefully someday soon! That would be great! We'd have to line up a handful of places to string together... but that would sure be nice to hana hou up there! Mahalo!
