Mahalo for sharing the video Kawika. We shot 2 more videos that day for Wanda. We wanted to express our infinite love for her through music. Paul suggested we make music videos to try & reach Wanda while she's in a coma. We're all hoping for the best for Wanda, Paul & their daughter's Karen and Marianne.
Wanda had been in the hospital for a couple of weeks due mostly to an infection to her foot. She's diabetic. She eventually had her pinky toe amputated. While in the hospital she was put on dialysis & even had surgery to shocked her heart into a more regular heartbeat.
The morning she suffered the cardiac arrest she messaged me on Facebook begging me to go see my doctor to follow up on my own health issues. Worried more about me than herself.
I really wonder if the doctors sent Wanda home too early after almost a month in the hospital. Within 2 days she suffered that cardiac arrest
I'm really worried about Wanda. She is a gem, an anchor contributor to mainland Hawaiian music. I met her an Paul a couple of times, once at Wolftrap for a Led concert, where we had a wonderful tailgate picnic, and once on Oahu for a Gabbyfest. I truly love her and her spirit, and I fervently hope she survives.
