Received it, and had a long post going, which I seem to have lost before posting!
In a nutshell, Bravo and Mahalo! Especially to, but not limited to George and Nancy Kahumoku, Chris Hillman, Teachers, and all contributors, fellow students and adopted Ohana! So thrilled to have so many great Friends through Music. Too much to get all of it, and no cell phones in early years. But a great chance to reminisce and walk through precious memories. Some ecstatic, some sad, many we're thankful for, and all precious.

Music, at its best, is communication. In our pop culture, it is mostly "product", missing the human immediacy. |

Thanks for the response! Pop music ain't as bad as it often was, it's worse! Laser and Smoke machines, bright lights, and many over-coached, under-talented people! And songwriting today? Forgetaboutit!
Sure, Packaging artist has been around...and marketing... Brian Epstein, The Beatles, etc...really great... nice, but They worked with the natural gifts, polishing the natural attributes of young artists. Amazing how primitive many good players were, say in Buffalo Springfield, and others that morphed and also learned more about those new-fangled electric guitars... but even when their playing skills were developing, made, wrote and recorded some great songs, and recordings which got the heart across.
Today, they just revamp an old hit...some with hot playing, but not always soul. Every once in awhile, something good comes to the surface. "Hey, I'd like to sing one I wrote, Ad nauseum! And my 2nd smash hit...Ad Nauseum II! Comes with an air-sickness bag.
anyway, guess this old volcano is steaming today!

As one matures, the "been there, done that" list lengthens. Tech gets in the way, it always has. I've always maintained that if an "artist" can sound good acoustically, then it's legit. Smoke, mirrors, angst, and lack of good counseling can be easily marketed to a greatly uninformed public...........

The PT Barnum adage: Is it "there's a sucker born every minute?" And sales people and politicians when caught in their lies will often double down. So what's happening Now is not new, but it is reaching absurd levels. "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!"
