This morning my in-box had a message claiming to be from Skylark Rosetti, who I know passed away this time last year. The body contained my account username and a URL (which, needless to say, I did not click on). The actual return address in the header is for a public-health researcher at the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. Something fishy here.
Fifteen years ago, I exchanged some messages with Skylark, and I suspect that her e-mail account has been hacked and her contact list looted. I have sent a query to the real account owner (the address is legit) and hope to get a reply--though as a public-health specialist she may be a bit busy right now.
