I am glad that no one else seems to have had any problems...
That is not the case at all...

...apparently you did not read my post!

An additional tidbit...

American Airlines broke my Guitar on the way to Tabago. There aren't any Instrument shops on Tobago! It cost me a $50 phone call to American for them to tell me that I could ship the Guitar (at my expense) to Chicago AND in about THREE MONTHS they would have it repaired and shipped back to me, PROVIDED that the repairs and shipping from Chicago did not cost nore that $250 (their liability limit at the time).

However there WAS a hardware store (of sorts) on the island and they had just ONE kind of black quick-setting (5 min) epoxy. 5 minute epoxy has a working time of about 2 minutes. Nevertheless, with that glue and some cheap C-Clamps purchased the same time, I was (by a miracle) able to glue the Headstock back in place. Looked ugly, but it worked, thereby returning the Guitar to my use for the rest of the three week 7 flight trip.

Now, that is just ONE of the three airline guitar breakage experiences I have been through. You may not want to hear any more.

(cigar box ukulele)

You should see T-Dan's really creative work with pen/pencil and paper or with computer animation. Watch "Monster House" and that is his master work!!!!

Cool... VERY cool!!

But those guitar bodies are too small!!

Maybe they are bozukis?

Small enough to bring on-board an airplane no doubt!

heh...heh...

I went get one case you can bounce like one basketball. Now i waiting fo one nylon cover so the stuff no scratch. Actually to keep the airlines guys from taping the clip locks so I don't get glue on the case from the tape. I also going drag/carry the guitar to the gate nd ask for go inside or if not then gate check the buggah. I also going put those new air bag stuffing by the head stock. The pocket inside is big enought for strings, tuner, capo and strap. So I should be all set. Now if I could only play the dang thing.

No'eau, eia au he mea pa'ani wale nō.

Don't forget that those extra underwear and t-shirts can go in the guitar case to cushion the baby.

I got a pro tech case for my Ukulele and it has an optional backpack strap boy I will need it this thing is built like a tank and made my little Ukulele weigh much more than I was planning on. But at least I will not have to worry. I am going to have my husband take a picture of me before I check in I will look like a pack mule with camera gear carryon suitcase Ukulele ect. This is the first time I am attempting this alone. I am used to having two people to spread this stuff out over.
Let the fun begin

I have traveled to the Islands with my 1970 Martin D-18 encased in a Taylor gig-bag inside the "Clam". Was also able to pack in some extra clothes and snorkel gear. Worked fine. Included a short leg to Molokai. Also traveled with my new Taylor G10 in it's hard case in the clam. A little wear and tear on the clam but it's extremelty tough. Had to wait a little while for over size packages in baggage claim, but when I sit down overlooking the South Pacific and play those first slacked notes, it's worth all the effort.
Highly recommend the clam.
