This is the place Paul and I always stay in Waikiki. It has been the Aston Waikiki Beach; it has been the Resort Quest Waikiki Beach and now I think it is the Aston Waikiki Beach again. The hotel is not too expensive and gives a wonderful breakfust buffet every morning and you can pack your breakfast in the coolers they give you to keep and take your lunch across the street for breakfast on the beach. There is live music at breakfast every morning from 7-9. Buffet breakfast is American and Japanese and liddo bit Hawaiian. Stuff like miso soup, seaweed salad, haupia, almond fluff and the standard eggs, bacon, etc. But dinner time at Tiki's -- oooh, now that is some kine ono. Macadamia encrusted fish, dependig on what is fresh that day; Friday plate with laulau, poke, lomilomi salmon and haupia, and all kinds other good stuff. Friday plate is available every day.

And the MUSIC -- they have live music every night -- sometimes two different groups of folk.

Look at this from Johnny Helm, who will be hosting an open mike night

Looks like Johnny is playing there Thursday and Saturday evenings. It says they will have stuff for you to plug your guitar into. Hmmmmm, maybe I could bet some boloheads and oddah guys like some bearded haole guy for make music at the open microphone night? But Derek and all dem can make good, good music and da Abrigo guyz, too.

Me ke aloha
Malama pono,
Wanda
