aloha group, friends and relatives,
i will be starting ukulele classes in the fall to meet all the needs of beginners, intermediate and advanced students(over 500 students the last three years). the class session runs for 6 weeks and is called,
"PLAYING THE UKULELE THE HAWAIIAN WAY - LEARNING BY EAR"

beginners will start with:
1. the basic ukulele theory,
2. basic strumming and chord structure for the keys of "C",
"F","A", "G", and "D",
3. sheet music for hawaiian songs in each key.

intermediate and advanced players will learn:
1. at least 6 to 8 new hawaiian strumming ( double strum,
the calypso, the hawaiian roll the "cha-lang-a- lang", the
"jawaiian", samba and other strumming.
2. the theory of tablature, the key to solo playing
3. picking techniques
4. advanced chording

this is the schedule of fall classes: (six week sessions)

MIRA COSTA CARDIFF CAMPUS 6:30 - 8 PM
- beginners - sept 8, 2009
- intermediate - sept 10, 2009

MOTU HAWAII - PACIFIC BEACH -SATURDAYS-START SEPT 12,(6 wks)

- beginners - 9:30 to 11 am
- advanced - 11:10 to 12:40 pm

CARLSBAD SENIOR CTR - 10 TO 11:30 PM (6 weeks)
( 760- 602-4654 - contact person - valarie)
- beginners 9/11/09 (fridays)
- intermediate 9/8/09 (tuesdays)
