I (finally!) finished writing an account (with pix) of our visit to the Big Island. As I am passionate about ukulele, the trip featured lots of ukulele activities (including the annual reception of the Big Island Ukulele Guild) and I thought some folks here might be interested. There's also a post about a whirlwind ukulele visit to Oahu (including a tour of Kamaka Ukulele, talking with steel guitarist Greg Sardinha and visiting with Jody Kamisato at his Ukulele Hale).
Hi Tonya, we really enjoy having you drop in on us here in Kona. I hope your adventures will inspire other Taropatch members to plan a trip of their own! It is always fun to have visiting musicians join in on our kanikapilas, or to just get together with a few friends by the ocean. Shirley and I run KONAWEB.com, a site about the Big Island, and we keep a pretty good list of musical things we hear about. See: http://www.konaweb.com/musicians/events.shtml when you are planning your trip to the Big Island.
