Aloha Memphis
Any taropatch ohana out there? or slack key and steel guitar listeners?
Just wanted to pass this message on to those in Memphis or live close by.
My friend Jerry Valdez (steel guitar.) and I were invited to Memphis to do a slack key steel guitar concert at the Leavitt Shell in Overton park.
The concert is "Free" to the public, The Shell brings music from all over the world to the people of Memphis. They wanted a Slack'n Steel performance and we were invited. Concert is on Sunday, 9/13/09,
We'll be doing a 20 min. performance at Graceland on 9/12/09. Sun Studio on 9/14/09, Gibson Guitar factory and Stax Recording.
The best thing about the performance at Leavitt Shell is...It's FREE!
Me Ke Aloha Kevin

Hey Kevin -
Sounds like a great little tour. I know you guys will rip it up. Have a wonderful time, and yeah, we do want a bar-b-q report.
I hope you can get some pix of you guys in Sun & Stax.
Talk about a couple of soul-filled places!

Uncle Kevin,
Cool venues! Wishing you great shows. Hey, how about a pit stop in New York? It's not on the way but while you're out that far... I can have wishful thinking. |

Hey there Ohana's, Mahalo for your kind words. Kawik's it's been awhile, still "frenz"- 4- evaz! my aloha to Bev.
Jim we were going to say that line after every song, instead of "thank you... thank you very much! we'll say... mahalo.... mahalo nui loa! haa! haa!
Mark and Jim, Corky's BBQ is where they told us to go. We had a call on Sunday from the promoter, asking if we could set a side one day for this blue grass band that wanted to host us with a backyard home style BBQ & jam session. Mark now I wish I learned the fiddle at Lark.
Dusty, there's always other times to come, you needed to Malama Sheila, yourself, and your ohana in your time of healing. We dedicated the camp to her.
Andy, there's a song that goes something like this... "So close, so close and yet so far". ha! ha!, I wish we could swing by your part of town, maybe next time.
I have a sister in Ohio and a brother in South Carolina, we'll meet up in Memphis. Mahalo again for the kind words, until then, everyone take care! Never mind the performance, I'll report on how the Rib's were....
Me Ke Aloha Kevin. |
