Howzit Hiram,

This is great news, particularly your classes at the new Freight & Salvage location, http://freightandsalvage.org/about.html . I haven't been to the new place yet, but I hear it is much bigger, very nice, and close to a BART station and Cal Berkeley.

For those who don't know Hiram, he is an excellent musician and gifted teacher, not just on 'ukulele, but also on harmonica, piano, guitar, etc. His unique approach to music and kolohe sense of humor make his lessons very insightful and fun. Plus, he's real good fun to kanikapila with (e.g., it was a trip playing "Ku'u Home 'O Kahalu'u" with slack key guitars, 'ukuleles, and Hiram on grand piano ).

Aloha,
Doug

The Freight is just a half block from Bart, very convenient. There is also a parking structure right next to it for $1 an hour. The new place is amazing and the location is bustling with activity. Berkeley is an exciting place for educational stimulation. I hope I am up to the task. This is the first time I am teaching an extended course. It will give me an oppurtunity to expound on details, which is not always possible at workshops. We will also have more time to jam and kanikapila towards the end of each session. If you want to learn how to get beyond just strumming and singing, I am sure I can be helpful.
BTW... Patrick Landeza is giving slack key lessons on the same night I am there(Wednesdays). Come join us for Hawaiian Nite at the Freight.

Hey Doug,
Tanks eh...ok den...
