Aloha Everyone,
Just want to thank all those who have stopped by my FaceBook page and have given their well wishes on the birth of my new granddaughter;
Michele Hina'eakawahine'ilikeaokalanikuaka'a Toshiko KamakahI Born: 09/09/09
Her Hawaiian name was given to her by me in a dream I had some months ago. It means " Hina'ea, the fair skinned woman of the highest heaven." Hina'ea was the foremost of all the Hina goddesses. She brought the sunrise and sunset of each day, was a skilled kapa maker, and a great healer. Her night form was the glimmering of the moon at night and legend says that the island of Moloka'i is her child.
When Michele came into this world, my son David told me that the sun's rays were peaking over the Ko'olau Mountains and lit up the delivery room with brilliant light. I told him that the spirit of my ancestors were bringing her spirit to Earth.
As a special gift to Hina'ea and in honor of her birth according to royal family tradition of the Kupanihi, Nuhi, Keopuolani, and the royal house of Maui ali'i, I have given her the song Wahine 'Ilikea as a mele inoa (name song). The mist of Kamalo, Moloka'i and the sacred waters of Hina are now her spiritual essence and the white mist of Kamakou has now become a human form.
E ola mau e Hina'ea, i keia manawa a mau loa aku. He makana makamae 'oe no kou Tutukane. Nui ke aloha mai a'u ia 'oe (Long live Hina'ea, now and forever. You are a precious gift for your Grandfather. Great is the love from me to you.)
Owau no, Tutu Dennis David Kahekilimamaoikalanikeha Kamakahi

congratulations, my firend! Remember, in the war between generations, the grandparents and grandchildren are on the same side (Winston Churchill). May she have many long years of peace and love! |
