Aloha! As a last minute ad, we were able to fill a week full of wonderful opportunities for Keoki to re-connect with everyone, say hello, give thanks and share his Aloha. All your cards, prayers and calls he received a few months ago gave him strength and purpose to know that he is here to give his love and Aloha through sharing and passing on of the music of his heritage.
He is so happy to be here and would love to see everyone! Check out his schedule! www.HawaiiMusicLive.com

What a great week! Tuesday night, following a day of torrential rain, I had the great pleasure of relaxing on a sofa near old friends and new, listening to Keoki’s beautiful voice in the comfortable setting of The Templebar. Surrounded by tikis, lauhala mats, surfboards, canoe paddles, kapa, tiki huts, and kahilis, Keoki played guitar and took requests for songs, including his hunting dog song, in between talking story about Big Island herds of wild goats and sheep. Last night about 25 people gathered at Yu Ai Kai for a potluck and kanikapila led by Keoki. He taught us a song about the love and affection for the district of Ka’u, followed by a sharing of songs from He Mele Aloha. This morning Keoki was interviewed on KKUP- 91.5 FM during the weekly Hawaiian music radio show. Thanks, Susie, for all you’ve done to create these opportunities to be with Keoki. It’s good to see him doing so well and sharing his aloha with all of us on the mainland! |

Yes, thank you Susie, for chauffeuring and lovingly taking care of our dear friend Keoki.
Last night we were privileged to be included in a short list of people who were invited to a lovely home overlooking the Santa Cruz Harbor. We had heard that Keoki needed some quiet time, and we went there to visit with him and gently share our aloha with him and Susie.
But within seconds of starting to play music, the room was filled with the sounds of ukuleles, Keoki's guitar and voice, Larry's bass, Stan's fiddle and Jan's harmonica. (Lots of folks from the Santa Cruz Ukulele Club) It went on for hours, even long after Keoki and Susie left the home to go rest up for the next day's activities. We were just so on fire and made music so happily, noone wanted to quit. I have to say that it was probably the most inspiring kani ka pila ever, and it was made ever so special because of Keoki's presence. I think we finally left around 1:00 AM! Boy, I wish we could make it to Pahala for Keoki's workshop in December! There is something special about that man...
