Anyone out there got any opinions on the Fishman Ag pickup , was thinking of installing it in my Kamaka Tenor.....looks pretty easy to do from youtube video....
Any other pickups on the market that you would recommend ?

I have installed the passive kind in several on my ukulele. I use a Fishman Pro EQ II in addition for volume control as well tone controls. My 6-string has an active Fishman and again I use the Pro EQ II. Have a Markley passive on my other ukulele and IMHO the pick up is not as strong/sensitive. (Need more volume on same amp) Also have a Flea uke with a B-Band undersaddle active which comes with volume control knob. Read nice reviews about the LR Bags and I believe the volume control can be mounted just inside the sound hole. I am not handy with tools, so I had my pickups installed at shop.

Should I? Itʻs only $, and where Iʻm going itʻll burn or melt.

Mahalo for the info....my other ukes have factory installed pickups..fishman , lr baggs , and shadow .....talked to McCabbes and they have K&K twin spot pickup , easy install 2 discs stick inside soundboard with 1/4 inch jack....they told me sound is similar to the Fishman AG ....charge $75 to install , I had the Markley types but gave them away , too much trouble to stick on and bad sound quality

A couple of years ago I visited Rollo Scheurenbrand in Kailua with Kimo Hussey. Rollo had just finished a truly spectacular tenor that Kimo tried out. It had the K&K Twinspot in it, and after a little adjustment of the tone controls on the amp, Kimo drew the most wonderful natural acoustic tone from that system.

And, being Kimo Hussey, he proceeded to dazzle and delight us with his musical explorations. Chicken skin just thinking about it.

Discounting his magic fingers, I'd still say that's the pickup I'm most likely to add to my next electrified uke.
