Come Friday, Paul will finish his one and only last day of his working career at the Regional Transit Authority. Woo-hoo. No more fixing buses. No more impact wrenches. No more air chisels. No more bunny suits and sanding booth.

Now we can be an old retired couple together. We can go to the casino in Erie, PA and he can hold my purse for me while I am making money at the slots....

They had a party for him on Saturday evening and gave him lots of presents. Here is one they gave him -- a new chapeau to wear to his black powder rendezvous.....

Welcome to da club, Bra! I thought I would have nothing to do, but, boy was I wrong! Life is full of music and friends, and I don't have to get up in the morning to go to work after a kanekapila or gig.

Congrats to Paul. He looks quite shorn compared to the youtube you posted last week.

Retirement is wonderful. Just don't take each other for granted.

Dusty - I was very excited to have him go to a barber shop. Matter of fact, that day, he actually set foot into TWO barber shops -- once for the haircut and beard trim and once for an old time music jam session. I probably won't we able to nag, er, um, urge him to get another until we go O`ahu in August.

He has discovered a `ukulele club that meets not too far from here. We don't know what kind of music they are in to, but we are going to check `em out at the library tomorrow evening.

One of the gifts he got from his friends at work was a strap for his `ukulele.

Thanks, Y'all. I'm not going to let retirement change me. I still don't plan to get frequent haircuts. I just didn't want to get chased away from the jam last Friday for insulting the barber shop!

Now you can play "catch up". Never enough time for music! Kudos for sticking it out.

Paul, don't skate with that new hat in the Olympics, otherwise PETA's going to harass you! http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-19632-Salt-Lake-City-Headlines-Examiner~y2010m2d1-PETA-activists-get-Johnny-Weir-Olympic-hopeful-to-change-from-fox-to-faux-fur . How's your quadruple lutz?

Congrats on your retirement!

That must be the "other" PETA. I belong to People Eating Tasty Animals. There's a place for all Gods Critters-right next to the potatoes & gravy!
