I suggest you may want to read the book. Here is an article from the Star Bulletin. I am always fascinated by the story behind the mele. This is important because it is modern music written for today in Hawai`i's beautiful language. It is so valuable when we have the story in the haku mele's own words. Now 5o-100 years from now, people won't be wonderinig whether the song was a love song or a "brush off" song, or wondering what specifically this referenc eto a flower actually meant.
