The Maui Music Festival, from April 23 to 25, is an all steel guitar event featuring Henry Allen, Duke Ching, Lion Kobayashi of Japan and Alan Akaka. It's at the Ka'anapali Beach Hotel. I'll be there, of course, then I'm coming to Oahu for 2 weeks.

Hey Slip -

That is so cool, cuz I'll be on Maui then!!! Annie & I have got some work to do on our place in Honokowai. I think I arrive on the 22nd.

We're a nice long walk from the hotel.

Is there a website with more info?

The Hawaiian steel guitar festival is an event to preserve, educate and promote the steel guitar as a viable musical genre that is uniquely Hawaiian. The instrument was invented by a Hawaiian and has received world wide acceptance as an instrument and musical genre that is being played in many different musical styles. Henry Allen is one of Hawai'i's "Living Treasures of Hawaiian Music". Henry, and a stunning group of featured musicians, will perform in several free concerts. Workshops and presentations available each day. This 2nd annual Festival is sponsored by County of Maui, Hawaii Tourism Authority, Kaanapali Beach Hotel, and Arts Education for Children Group.

This event is just about in my back yard. It will be a fun event where I can hopefully pick up some additional playing techniques.
I inherited a 1935 Rickenbacker model B from my dad a few years back.
