An Evening of Hawaiian Music
Saturday, March 13 8 pm - 10 pm

Come to Olympia for a concert featuring Herb Ohta Jr and Patrick Landeza, along with performances by two local hula halau and the Olympia 'Ukulele Players (who will no doubt be nervous, so come show them some aloha, ea?). All of this fun will be presided over by our very own Uncle Gregg (retro).

Tickets are $15, $20, and $30...so not too much kala for so much fun!

Tckets can be bought online at www.olytix.org or by calling the Washington Center for the Performing Arts Box Office at (360)753-8586 Tuesday through Friday from 12:30pm to 5:30pm. Or of course, at the door!

The Kenneth J. Minnaert Center for the Arts
South Puget Sound Community College
2011 Mottman Rd, Olympia WA 98512

I must say that Mark Nelson is a dear friend, so it's too bad that he and Tom are having their Bellevue concert the same night. All I can say is that if you live anywhere in this area, you should be going to one of these concerts! Imua Hawaiian music!

I'm hip--it is always a drag when stuff happens on the same nite. We'd already set our tour when I got wind of this show--too late to change.

By all means, go to one--or the other. Don't let the conflicting dates keep ya home--there ain't nuthin' on TV anyway.

I love Herb (I call him "Ohta Son") & Patrick. Great guys, amazing musicians. Gregg ain't no slouch, either.

Imua indeed!

If you are in Seattle, come to our monthly "Spam n' Jam" at the Kona Kitchen in Maple Leaf (5th Ave NE at NE85th St.) on Saturday from 9 to ??? (usually noonish). I'll be there with Mark and Ron, and Retro says "we'll all be there", so maybe Herb and Patrick, unless Greg picks the up at the airport on his way to Olympia. Lots of folks show: Uncle Danny Kaopuiki, thumbstruck, Bernie Simeona, maybe Iwalani Kamahele, Retro and Momi, Rod Higuchi, and many others. It's an informal jam, so anyone can play. Onolishus breakfast grinds, too!

Well, I meant me, Momi, and many of the other regulars - though I can't really vouch for Momi, as she'll be prepping food for the Olympia crowd. Come to think of it, I probably shouldn't try to vouch for the other regulars - but I suspect many will attend.
