Aloha all! Have not been here in awhile, sorry about that.
Hapa is touring the mainland!!! www.hapa.com for dates, they are visiting quite a few location they have never been, so go see, now!
We saw them last night in Chicago at the Tiki Terrace. WHAT A SHOW!!! Barry and Nathan are incredible musicians and were on all night (except for song one where the sound was iffy). Great set that they are changing up with local style music. The played a blues piece by a Chicago Legend Melvin Taylor that was kickin.
They are playing again tonight at the Old Town School of Folk and will be attending as well.
To all those that can't get to paradise to see them, most definitely attempt to see them here and now. It is a treat to see musicians this good!!
MAHALO!

I am very excited for HAPA's show this Saturday in NYC. Peter Fonda will be there there to introduce the group. And I get to be a small part of the show as a special guest!!! I am stoked.
Award winning group HAPA with Barry Flanagan and Nathan Aweau, featuring Malia Ann Kawailanamālie Petersen, Miss Aloha Hula 2002, returns to New York City for a special engagement.
Peter Fonda will be Master of Ceremonies!

Oh man, what a weekend! With a twinge of Wayne's World nastalgia, i.e. "I'm not worthy! I'm not worthy!", I totally enjoyed the ride of being a special guest at HAPA's show in New York City. Deep down, I didn't really believe it was real until it happened. It was surreal to be on stage before a near sell out New York crowd with Barry Flanagan to my left and Nathan Aweau to my right, plus Peter Fonda and others off in the wings. I played 12-string rhythm guitar on Kaopuiki Aloha. I'm pretty much speechless so will let the photos do the talking.
A huge thank you to O'Neill Entertainment, HAPA and everyone involved in making the huge production a success. Hālāwai helped promote and was able to raise money for future programming through the sale of special tickets. It was an honor to be a part of it.

Congrats Andy! What an awesome experience. By the way, are you asking Barry what key he is in?
