HELP!! I'm looking for a teacher! I have been SLOWLY teaching myself basics of slack key and I'm not getting anywhere. I've attended a couple of workshops that have been very helpful, but I'm left to apply what I learn myself and i have no one to direct me or remind me of technique or give me personal one on one attention. I live in Hacienda Heights and am looking for an instructor who is close to me. I know many of you live near LA, but is there anyone within 10 miles or so of Hacienda Heights, say, Whittier maybe?! I know Whittier college has a great Hawaiian concert series every year, and I'm right over the hill from there! So, if you live in or near Whittier or Hacienda Heights and would be willing to take on a student, please contact me! Here's my info:
Danny Dean drdannanio @ drdannanio.com
Thank you!!

Welcome to the 'Patch, Doc.You might try searching the members list for players in your area. You can send members an email through the TP system and maybe find someone to at least jam with. Unko Paul |

I found this on AlohaWorld.com under mainland directory, music & music instruments: Ukulele, Slack-Key, and Lead Guitar player for Carson band Kua'ana is now offering private lessons to anyone all those interested. Play ukulele like Kelly Boy or Troy Fernandez or jam slack key like Gabby. Aloha Ron E Kapila Music Lessons, 23718 Livewood Ln, Harbor City CA 90710 310-534-5081 I know it's a bit of a drive from Whittier. I don't know anything about the teacher or his band. Good luck, Tony |
