Sad to report that Don McDiarmid -- founder of Hula Records, and major contributor to the island music industry for more than 50 years -- has passed away:

Sad news indeed. He led a long, productive and fulfilling life - and those of us who love Hawaiian music are the more fortunate for all his efforts. Our sympathies go out to Flip, Cindy & all the Hula Records `ohana.
