CD's are done. The big release party gig thing is tomorrow (now I wish I lived on the west coast). And the best thing I have to tell you, the MUSIC IS AMAZING !!!!!!

You know Auntie, always nagging and nudging and pestering. Well guess what? That sweet Patrick has let Auntie listen to his music!!!! I get one SNEAK preview. Hah. Was so swell. Some mighty fine music. And of COURSE, I had to get the kleenex, because I was so touched that he let me listen to it ahead of time. is that sweet or what?

First of all, the mix of songs and the order they are on the recording is great. Some sweet, slow, nahenahe instrumentals, some toe-tapping stuff, some amazing vocals. Some traditional mele, some original stuff.

You know my favorite on there is Waiulu. That is a special song to me because it speaks of such a true and binding love such as Paul and I have. Oh but there were so many gems and surprises on this recording. Kahuku Slack Key, of course, sounds more beautiful than ever, so sweet and so nahenahe. Hanalei Moon was a great and jolly surprise. Maori Brown Eyes was a sweet and gentle version of that mele, and I liked it very much. Some ki ho`alu players try to outdo each other with thrashing kinda stuff on that, but you did it slower with great vocals. That was top notch! The Berkeley Bounce reminds me so much of Uncle Raymond in some places and Uncle Sonny in other places. How Patrick kept up that rhythm so perfectly for so long, I’ll never know, but it was spot on. I really like that one, and I can see it becoming the new ki ho`alu standard for adding to a slack key player’s repertoire. And Manuela Boy/Le`ahi – who woulda thunk. I never would have thought of the two of those mele together, but it works wonderfully. I love the cha-cha beat to it.

Every selection on there is good in its own right. I could wax poetic about it for pages and pages.

K-den. You folks who can, go to the performances and buy the CD. All you folks for whom Patrick is your kumu, I know you are going to support him full on.

Now look the cover.

Me ke aloha

"You know Auntie, always nagging and nudging and pestering."
Non con un palo di 10 piedi!
What you sit there trying to read Italian for? Go help Patrick celebrate, and buy some CD's. Then come tell us how good fun it was.

You can now go to Patrick's web site to order all his CDs:
www.patricklandeza.com

His new CD is magnificent! But don't forget his previous recordings, if you haven't yet had a chance to get them. I especially love Christmas to Me. That is a big part of our Christmas every year. You may think I am silly, but the Chipmunk Song that he does is really one of my favorites. I like the mele, but can't stand the way Alvin and his buddies do it, but Patrick's is great without the guy yelling "AAAALVIN! Patrick's is the nahenahe version.

He is working on distribution so online downloads will be ready by next month!

Go forth and purchase.
