Aloha Bob,
Think this may have been a one time event back in 2007. Event was part of the SF Museum of Craft and Folk Art activities back then. I checked the San Francisco Bay Area Hawaiian Events site and there is no mention of a SF Uke Festival. No one at one Berkeley Uke Club brought this up either.
Unfortunately the annual Hayward Uke Festival is not being held this year, and Iʻm not sure of its future. Hopefully it will return.
For folks in the SF Bay Area in the fall the Kimo Hussey and Tim Dang are holding their 3rd Slack Key and Ukulele workshop as previously mentioned in Live Lessons, Camps, Workshops. And Iʻm hearing Elaine and the Napa Flea Jumpers are already advertising the Wine Country Ukulele Festival in Napa Sept 11-12.
Bob, looking forward for our paths to cross again. Always a pleasure to jam with you. |

Should I? Itʻs only $, and where Iʻm going itʻll burn or melt. |

Yep, as far as I know this was a one-shot deal, but it was really fun! Jake made a surprise appearance and there was lots of great local 'ukulele talent on stage, including Faith Ako.
But, there's still the Wine Country 'Ukulele Festival ( www.winecountryukefest.com ) coming up September 11 & 12. Registration isn't open, yet. But, if anyone's interested, they should subscribe ( http://winecountryukefest.com/subscribe/ ) to the website soon because I'm pretty sure we're going to have a number of sell-out events. Subscribing is free and by signing up, you will get all the latest information as it becomes available.
We're certainly going to miss you this year, Bob. Hope you can make it in 2011.
(Don't mean to rub it in, but here are some pics from 2009 so you can see what you missed: http://winecountryukefest.com/subscribe/ )
See you soon.
Elaine
