Its been a little quiet on the Hawaii Music Live front lately, but only due to the privilege of working with some wonderful artists. One of which is Slack Key Master John Keawe. If you have not experienced the true aloha and beauty of John's gift of music, his songs bring such life to the land and love of the islands. His lovely wife, Hope, gracefully shares their stories through the art of Hula.
Come share an evening with the Keawe's as they spend a few hours with us at venue near you! Get your tickets early as some venues may sell out. John will also conduct a few SLACK KEY WORKSHOPS for those who might be interested in learning more of John's wonderful style.

The consummate performer, John has always felt honored to have the opportunity to entertain and share his Aloha with people from around the world. Often, his lovely and graceful wife, Hope, will perform hula while John is performing offering inspiring and beautiful interpretations of his songs. John has also had the privilege of being an instructor on numerous occasions at prestigious slack-key music camps such as the one hosted by his friend and colleague, Keola Beamer.
John Keawe continues to leave an indelible imprint in the realm of Hawaiian slack key guitar music. His music transcends time and is truly an integral part of Hawai`i’s culture and history. Sigh...we're likely to be on the road ourselves at the time, and will miss the Seattle activities.
But, family comes first; my first mo`opuna is due to appear at the end of May, so we'll be heading to Iowa to help out. Gonna miss Folklife, too. |

Don't make OR cancel any plans based on a predicted birth date. Babies come when they're durn good and ready.
Come June 5, you could still be here...or you could be BACK. Even with your 3-week road trip schedule. |

How very true, Puna. And if we are still here or back by June 5, we WILL be at Town Hall that evening, garans, even if that's the day we pull back into town. Missing John, Hope & Susie would be very sad indeed. |

Hi Dave - yep, will let you know if I come up there. If I do I'll probably be coming with Kimo West. Yeah, I knew Kaleo would be opening, he's the one that first told me John would be up there. Looking forward to it! |

If you are coming to SB and are not familiar with Soho, email me separately and I will explain the details. There are a couple options. Dave |

Yesterday, I was so fortunate to visit Uncle John at his beautiful homestead in Kohala with Keoki, Tiffany and Nobu! Got a quick hug from Aunty Hope before she headed out to make lei for a big competition on Oahu this weekend.
John, with his warm smile and wonderful hug, he said he is looking forward to seeing all his friends and playing music for us all on his wonderful journey from Seattle to Arizona. Craig and I are looking forward to seeing you folks out there too!
We also talked a bit about Keokiʻs workshop in Dec. this year too. He and Aunty will be with us the entire week!!! Canʻt wait!
Much Aloha to everyone!! |

Aloha e Susie! Hey - - I thought Keoki's workshop was in November before Thanksgiving. Are you coming down to Santa Barbara? I hope so because I plan to be there and it's been too long since I've seen you. Mahalo for putting this together! auntie nancy |
