Wake up, wake up! aloha kakahiaka kakou! The day is cooler and thte birds are just starting to chirp outside. Time to begin your week with some wonderful music on this Mele Monday.

Next week, Auntie won't be here to make the list for you...Guess where I will be? Nope, not in the hospital! Good stuff this time....I am going to be with Uncle Paul and Duke and Jay and Derek and the Abrigos and Uncle Ronald and Braddah Sam and Shawn and Terry Brown and you never know if I might find that CUTE Ocean Kaowili. And while I am gone, we will have a guest list maker for you so you won't go without your weekly fix of You Tube videos. Norm Markowitz has kindly agreed to take care of the listing for the next three Mondays while Auntie and Uncle are otherwise occupied.

Yikes. I will fix it. Gee, Bob, I must have liked your Etude #1 so much, I had to post the link twice!
Here is
slack Key Haole playing Punahele. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0m2PLAaO48. I also fixed the link above so anyone looking at the list anew would not be surprised by my mistake.

Thanks, Bob, for your fine music and for catching my boo-boo.

Ahhh...Kauai's own, my friend Kainani Kahaunaele! That's from her new CD, "`Ohai `Ula":

In addition to having a wonderful voice, playing `ukulele since childhood, and having a polished stage presence, and teaching at UH-Hilo, Kainani is an accomplished haku mele. She composed many mele which were included on the series of CDs released for the `Aha Punana Leo curriculum:
http://www.mele.com/music/artist/%60aha+punana+leo/

Her debut solo CD -- Na`u `Oe -- garnered multiple Na Hoku Hanohano Awards in 2004 (Female Vocalist of the Year, Most Promising Artist of the Year, and Hawaiian Language of the Year). She's given other of her mele to musicians such as Aaron J. Sala and Weldon Kekauoha for inclusion on their own CDs.
