Aloha all -
My friend Evo Bluestein was just through on his way to PSGW, and he reminded me of a wonderful interview his father, the folklorist Gene Bluestein, conducted with Aunty Nona Beamer for Fresno Public TV sometime in the late 70s or early 80s.
Evo has two 5 minute clips posted on YouTube so far, and they are wonderful. In time, he will post the entire interview; I hope it will be soon.
It is a rare glimpse into the world of this remarkable woman.

Thanks Mark. She was indeed a remarkable woman. I still hold dear my memories of talking with, and sitting beside her.
Makes me misty-eyed.

Mark,
What a wonderful treat after a rocky week trying to accomodate several Hawaiian musicians with their own quirks. I was ready to give up on this aloha spirit thing until I saw Auntie's interviews, and was reminded that there are some people who are so spectacular in their sphere of influence, that they eclipse all others. Auntie Nona was one of them. I will forever treasure the times we got to spend with her, at Kalani Honua, at Kaupoa, at Keahou. I feel we are privileged and honored to have had such times with her.
Thank you so very much for helping to make that all possible.
