Guitar Republic...
Amazing but not Hawaiian. Three very good acoustic guitar players. Wow, these three guys are tight.

Well I got Paul a bow that he could use on his mountain dulcimer. I wonder if that would work on a guitar.

The whole violin family of instruments have a sharp radius on the finger boards, to make it possible to play single strings with a bow. On the nearly flat fret board of a guitar, a standard bow would make single string playing very difficult, if not impossible. The dulcimer bow has this sharp radius built into it, so it would probably work.

Jimmy Page used a bow on his guitar. But as was said he probably only played the accessible strings. But you know when you are at a concert a lot gets missed when the air is full of smoke.

I remember hearing about how Jimmy Page played the guitar with a violin bow. It sounded quite an impressive thing to do. When I actually saw a film of him doing it, however, I just thought 'ha ha! Is that it? What a load of crap'.

I was much more impressed watching Nigel Tufnel leaving the bow in the stand and playing guitar with the actual violin!
