Our guest this week on Pakele Live! with Tony Solis is Kapena De Lima.
At age 22, Kapena, who was named after the well-known group “Kapena,” already has over a decade’s worth of experience in the music business, having been introduced to it by his father (Kelly Boy De Lima) at age 10. He recently returned to the islands after spending 4 years on the mainland working towards his bachelor’s degree in sound engineering.
In addition to performing with his father and sisters as the De Lima Ohana and in the band Kapena, he is currently performing as a soloist in major hotels all over Oahu, as well as at private functions. He has his own recording studio in Kaneohe and has been recording everything from jingles to singles. He also just completed several CD recordings for some local artists.
Join host Tony Solis for Pakele Live! on Thursday, November 11 from 6-8 p.m. HST in the Pakele Lounge at the Ala Moana Hotel (410 Atkinson Dr., Honolulu). There is no cover charge or minimum, although your purchase of two drinks or soft drinks helps ensure the continuation of the Pakele Live! concert series. All ages are welcome, and free parking is available next door at Ala Moana Shopping Center.
