Currently, what are the five favorite Hawaiian CDs that you seem to play over and over and over. I know that this would be a dynamic list. Everyone's whims or focus changes from time to time, but what are you listening to now...the ones you keep in the CD player in the car or the ones you listen to in your mp3 player over and over and over because they strike you as so good (right now).

Mine are:
1. Martin Pahinui - Ho`olohe
2. Mike Keale - Remember
3. Makaha Sons - Na Pua O Hawa`i
4. Braddah Smitty - Only You
5. Gary Haleamau - Hemolele

1. Hoku Zuttermeister - Aina Kupuna

2. Dennis Kamakahi - Greatest Hits Vol 1

3. Marlene Sai - Song for Honolulu. I made a CD copy of an LP in my collection, so I can play it in the car.

4. Mike Keale - Remember

5. Dennis Pavao - The Golden Voice of Hawai'i Vol 1

haunts me sleeping and waking."

And there is one we played so much it is worn out and I need a new one: Clyde "Kindy" Sproat - Na Mele Kupuna

I've been rotating between Hui Ohana, best of I and II, Ho'olohe, Ozzie, Led, Holunape, and assorted collections, beside buttonbox stuff. Too many tunes, too little time!

Since Martin Pahinui Ho'olohe is a favorite of yours you might also really like "kiho'alu Sundays" and "Kiho'alu Sundays Second Set". Same great sound from the same guys but also has vocals by Aaron Mahi and George Kuo in addition to Martin. A lot of really nice versions of standards and not-so-standards.

My chill-out CD list:
1. Sonny Lim, Slack Key Guitar: The Artistry of Sonny Lim
2. Slack Key Tradition
3. Slack Key Guitar: The Artistry of Jeff Peterson
4. Hui Ohana, Hui Ohana (the green album)
5. Kaimoku

And Terry question opens the door to another important question. Not only who can buy CDs, but indeed, whether albums are going to be available for purchase much longer. With single track purchasing now available--not to mention the rampant one-person-buys and 999 friends copy without purchasing--musicians are having to rethink how to market music.

I don't have just CDs. I have a huge assortment of stuff on my MP3 player. I have about 200 traditional Hawaiian songs in the mix along with all the different country music songs I have. So I put it on random and everything comes up eventually.

Most of my Hawaiian stuff is on vinyl and I have no way to convert it to mp3s ... can anyone help who can convert vinyl to mp3 and has the same albums I have?

My favorite CD right now isn't Hawaiian. It's Planet Country by Lee Kernaghan (nominated for 6 CMAA Awards). I can't get enough of his music and his amazing voice.

What I do have in my Hawaiian mix is Olomana, Jerry Santos, Hui Ohana, Sean Na'au'ao, Ka'au Crater Boys, Makaha Sons, Moe Keale, Darren Benitez, Dennis Pavao, Kawai Hewett (I only have one song and would like the rest to add), Led and I Kona, Keali'i Reichel, Iz, Hui Aloha, and a few others.

Lovin' Lee is my favorite pasttime!!
