Hey everyone,
Looking forward to this event in San Jose. The movie message is about hope. How The Okami family started the KoAloha 'Ukulele Company and become one of the leading 'ukulele manufacturers in the world.
Everyone must be wondering why my Father is performing at the concert.... 2 reasons. 1) He hasn't been in the bay area for over 2 years. 2) He is one of the main factors for KoAloha to start 'ukulele manufacturing. I'll also be there with Jon Yamasato. We will be bringing our new Duet CD, "Take 1" that was released late last year. Tony Conjugacion will also be there. He is a very popular Kumu Hula and a award winning vocalist.
It will be a fun evening with some surprises. Maybe a 'ukulele giveaway?

I had planned on going but then found out that it's the same night as the Father-Daughter dance at my daughter's school. We've attended every year and this will be her last one since she's moving on to middle school next year so I can't miss it. Priorities, priorities...

Aloha,
Just found out that KoAloha will be giving away Two (2) 'ukuleles on May 6th. They appreciate the positive response the 'ukulele has been receiving in CA especially in San Jose, Santa Cruz, and other cities in the Bay Area.
Alan & Paul Okami are very excited to be able to come to San Jose and celebrate this instrument we call the 'Ukulele!

Excited about this coming Friday in San Jose! Tickets are still available from what I heard. Tony Conjugacion, Ipo Tonaki, The KoAloha Bros, Jon Yamasato, and I are looking forward to seeing all of you there!

And it is worth noting that Herb has several Na Hoku Hanohano nominations this year, including entertainer of the year (if my memory serves me correctly).
Probably got this last nomination because of best on-stage deadpan.
