Here's a product that might be useful for some folks ... maybe.

My mother was a little disappointed when she discovered that the ukulele she ordered from Hawaii was a baritone. She didn't know that baritones were tuned differently from sopranos, concerts and tenors. She did want a large ukulele because it was easier for her to handle. Having a baritone however meant that none of her songbooks could be used since they all were written for standard tuning (GCEA).

I saw a set of Hilo Strings from http://www.ukuleleworld.com which allowed standard tuning on a baritone (Baritone Standard Set). I ordered these and restrung my mother's ukulele.

It now sounds like a LOUD soprano ukulele.

Nice idea Hans! I was wondering if standard ukulele tuning was possible on a baritone. I'll keep that website in mind.
