From alt.music.hawaiian today...

The Brothers Cazimero will perform with the Boston Pops Orchestra on
Jetties Beach, Nantucket Island, MA on Saturday evening, August 9th,
from 7:00pm to 10:00pm. This is a benefit for the Nantucket Cottage
Hospital.

For information about the event, call the Nantucket Cottage Hospital
at 508-825-8250.

That was the PSA. Now here is the gripe:

For about the umpteenth time, a major Hawaiian music act has come to
the east coast and there was absolutely no mention of it ANYWHERE. I
have been looking for any mention of this event since seeing the
Brothers Caz at Chai's in early July. (Robert mentioned that they
were coming over but didn't know the exact date.) So I have
diligently been checking the Star-Bulletin, Advertiser, and Boston
newspapers online, performed Google searches, and visited Mountain
Apple Company's website and Auntie Maria's concert calendar.
Absolutely no mention of this monumentous event! Even the official
Boston Pops website has no mention of the Brothers Cazimero
appearance. Here's the link:

Today was the first time I found anything about this at MAC's website.
There was no mention of it there as recently as a week ago.

So, if you are on the east coast and don't mind a few hours drive, you
are either reading this post just in time or a day too late to do
anything about it.

At this rate, Hawaiian music will remain the world's best kept secret.

Sincerely,

Bill Wynne
Disappointed on the other coast - again!
