Well...I know that Gary Haleamau in living in the area, but I'm not sure if he's teaching. Try calling the various hula schools in Vegas; the instructors usually know _every_ island musician in their neighborhoods!

I'm new to this site and fairly new to mss. brds. I'm also looking for a mentor and teacher to help me learn ki ho'alu here in Vegas. Thinking of starting a slack key group to have kanikapila and maybe promote bringin in some of the Island Masters to Vegas. We have a huge Hawaiian contingency here. L&L opening their second store!
Vegas gets _lots_ of performances by touring musicians from Hawai`i (lucky you!). Do contact the slack key masters directly -- most of them have their own websites and are always glad to hear from their fans (especially if a possible gig is involved )
