I am rejoicing as a play (and even think about) my new Kamaka. It is sweet. I like to plug it in, but it sounds better unplugged. I also own a Mele concert. This is not even in the same ball park. Kamaka is truly amazing. It sounds good playing Hawaiian, jazz, rock, even christmas music. I recommend this instrument to all who can afford it. I couldn't but I bought it anyway. No regrets! Any other Kamaka fans want to Chat?

Congratulations on the Kamaka. I got one, too. I've played a bunch and none have that mellow sound!

I have only ever bought Kamakas. I got my tenor about three years ago and it's all I play. I am a big fan of Kamaka's and recommend it above all others for playability, craftsmanship and affordability. The affordability part is hard to understand until after you've bought it and realize what a fantastic instrument it is. It's worth it. Although there are other high end and more expensive instruments like Tony Graziano's in Santa Cruz or Les Reitfors in Kailua, both excellent luthiers, you can't go wrong with any size Kamakas. I think I should get a free set of strings at least for this commercial. The fact is that there are a lot of great ukulele makers these days and people have to find the one best suited for their situation and level of play. If you buy an expensive instrument of around $300 and find that after awhile you decide that you are better suited to play something else, like golf for instance, then you will be able to at least sell, for the same price, a more quality instrument than a cheaper one. Have fun and stay tuned...

Stay Tuned...
