Hello Friends;
It's that time of year and I was just wondering what you were asking Santa for or hoping for for Hannukah, Kwanza or just for yourself?
Me, a Taylor parlor guitar, mahogany back and sides and mahogany top with a hardshell case, a Johnson m991 triple resonator...oh yeah with a hardshell case, Bob Brozman instructional dvd's on Hawaiian and blues guitar, instructional books with cd's on intermediate and advanced slack key. A 9'4" Robert August or Dewey Weber long board unless Bing wants to shape me one instead of Santa (actually I've never ridden a board shaped by elves so I'm not sure it would be any good). Anyway that's my list, what's your's,oh yeah and peace on earth, good will to those who haven't discovered our beautiful music yet.
Aloha and happy holidays whatever you celebrate;

Waveriderjon

I just got the massive 2 volume Gary Larson, "Far Side" collection, so my list is taken care of for this year. (I usually also get a piece of tribal or folk art - family members pitch in for one gift.)

I want Santa to make my hands fast enough to do 'triplets' at at least half the speed that Bob Brozman does them. I would also like a pint of poke from Ledward's Kaapana's secret supplier.
Free tickets to Molokai or Maui next June would also be nice! I want a CD of George Kahumoku and Ledward telling jokes to each other. They both have prize winning laughter. Mostly, I would like my doctor to tell me that I don't have to do any more chemo!
Merry Christmas to all of the musicians who have come into my life in the past few years. Thanks for sharing it with me!
Aloha,
-Konabob

Aloha KonaBob, you just hang in there and stay tough. No human being (or musician) ever got anywhere except through hard work and determination. Keep fighting! Hugs and lots of aloha.

As for my Christmas wish, I may be an utter failure at slack key guitar, but I tried a Regal steel guitar at a shop tonight and just LOVE that steel slide sound. Maybe Santa will bring me the wherewithall to actually learn that steel!

Then of course, are my wishes for peace of mind for all those wonderful friends I've met through music. Peace on earth seems a little past my dreams, but I think if we can all find a little happiness in our own little worlds, we can make it another year. Julie

You go girl! Taro patch steel is so much fun, you won't believe it! And of course Bob Brozman lives right in your neighborhood! He was just great to meet at George Kahumoku's workshop last week. I think he does lessons right at his house. Check http://www.bobbrozman.com

I ask Santa (and higher powers that be) for peace, good health, happiness and success for all friends and `ohana. Especially Konabob and Slackkey bill.

Although, I'm always gawking at all the beautiful guitars out there, the reality is that I own a gorgeous guitar and `ukulele(s). I have plenty of learning materials. I just need more time to jus' press and hopefully I will have opportunity to jus' press with some of you in 2004.

My early Xmas gift was Keali`i Reichel's new CD given to me by my parents who just returned from Kaua`i.

I'll second Andy's blessing, wishing all good things to the Taropatch ohana and beyond. For Konabob, Slackkey Bill, and anyone wrestling with health challenges, get well soon!

Well, I love my guitars so much and they don't need replacement this year. But I'm eagerly awaiting a new 5-string frailing banjo and very excited. Also, this will allow me to give another away as a gift. I've also had my eye on one of those Regal squareneck dobros .. perhaps this year. And watching the kid and his tenor banjo project ...

I just had an early gift of seed, prune mui and a new hula t-shirt, and will have thoughts of paradise while up in Maine till the new year (different kine paradise).

Mele Kalikimaka and a Ki Ho'alu New Year.

Aloha kakou
My wish list is huge. . . . . Peace on Earth. Please. I guess I'm a starry-eyed idealist, but that's my wish.
And for all ki ho'alu players and 'ukulele players and those who love da music, may your fingers be blessed, your hearing acute and your heart filled with aloha. <G>
And, well, ummmm, it would be nice to have a new, perfectly balanced guitar, small size - like Julie, I can't reach ovah da dreadnaught. An' den mebbe the ears to hear wit' and da fingahs to fly, oh! mos' important, da memory of what I've played. All the blessings of the season to all of you.

I wish for Kona Bob (especially) and everyone else to be healthy. I wish people would also remember why we celebrate Christmas. Let's share more aloha, be appreciative for what we have and try to help others who need it.

Peace, ya'll.
