Ok. After implementing changes and testing, things seem to be working well. You should see that a city/region field has been added to the member profiles. Moreover, the city/region field and state field now appear on the members page and can be sorted. This should help members seek out others near them. Not many members have info in their city/region field since it did not exist before. Please add it in your profile if you're interested.
A few other upgrades have been done as well but none that would be as immediately visible as the members page changes.
I've also made a change to the mail settings so please let me know if you are able to email other members or not.
Thanks for your ideas and please let me know of any bugs (gremlins or menehune) that come up.

| I would just like to encourage those members (194 as of right now) who haven't entered their home state in their member profile to do so (just click on the Profile link at the top center of this page) and, if you're comfortable doing so, either you hometown or the general part of the state you live in (especially helpful for big states like CA). All this does is make it easier for members to get in touch with other nearby members (anonymously, via the member email link) with information about upcoming events. Even if you're more interested in listening than playing, getting together with other players locally is a great experience and one more way to share in the aloha! |

Oh, Craig, I so dearly wanted to make my country Tuvalu (right above USA on the pulldown).
I also now believe that the person who selected "Afghanistan" simply picked the country on the top of the list and is a kind of joker (others may decide which kind). OTW, would the person from Afghanistan please raise a hand (only if it does not contain an RPG), if, in truth, that is where you are, I might want to shake the hand you raise.

The person from 'Afghanistan' also lists their state as California.
There is a person from 'Belarus', also in the state of California.
A country of "Saint Barthelemy", in the state of California.
A country of 'Vanatu', in California.
I always knew California was a very large, diverse state... |
