Eh Aloha Pops!

How 'bout somebody from the Northshore of Maui Hawaii! We can go "kanikajammapila" down by da beach undah da iron/wood needle/pine tree!Get nice shade, cool sand undah da okole and in-between da toes!
And dakine....we can go pound opihi's too! And if you like kau kau fresh fish, we can go dive small-kine!

All you gotta do, take Hana highway 36, head fo old Paia town. Through the street lights, past Paia General Store on da left, just wen you reach the Fire Station also on da left, slow down, and den take the first right up "Kupono St."

Keep going up da street, and just before da stop sign at the end of the St. on da right-hand side, you going see one short chain-link fence. You going see one ilio hale with da name "Lono". Just give one yell! And us go head down da beach...."K"! See you when I see you! A Hui Hou!

Pops,

Do you ever make it a bit further east? Let me know if you're ever in NY/NJ.

Dear Andy, where you at in NY/NJ? I can't help thinking that Pittsburgh, PA, where I'm located, is somewhere between Cleveland and NYC...maybe a bunch of us could arrange to meet somewhere in the middle sometime. Or, even better, is anyone else in this general area going to Reading, PA for August 28th? The Kahumoku 'ohana is giving a slack key workshop and performance there on that date, and I'm certainly planning on being there. I'd love to meet some fellow TaroPatchers!

Hi Linda,

I'm in Mendham, NJ which is approx. 45-50 minutes west of NYC. There are TaroPatchers in PA, NJ, NY, CT... so it would be great to get together. The big question is where and when?

I guess we need to follow Fran's lead. So where's it going to be?

Just be sure to bring lots of memory cards for the cameras, minidiscs for the recorders, and batteries.

Judging by my experience you don't have to feed a bunch of pickers, they just want to fondle guitars, play guitars, talk guitars.

Fran

What?!?! Food not so important? I don't believe it!

It looks like you all had a great time. Must have been a treat having the luthiers there as well. Did you try Lance's harp guitar? Looks cool, but I have a tough enough time with 6 strings!

Aloha,
Andy

Oh yes, arrange a gathering, for sure. And Fran is right about the food. Very strange. I think they don't want to get their fingers sticky. They also don't want to leave the group to go off and get food; they might miss something. They're right.

Linda, as luck has it, I will be in Philadelphia this week visiting family and plan on getting to Reading for the show.

Dear Greg, maybe you won't see this before tomorrow - but I'll be looking for you! For any other TaroPatchers who might be in Reading, PA on Aug. 28th for George Kahumoku's show - look for a short, rather plump chick with long straight brown hair and wearing a heather gray Dancing Cat t-shirt. I'll probably have some kind of name tag on too - so if you see me, just walk right up and introduce yourself!
