Anyone else out there catching these shows? Whoa, just got back from the NYC, the city that never sleeps, show at the Knitting Factory. Show started at 11:30pm and ended at 1:20am.
What a treat. Willie and Amy just sound awesome together and the musicianship of the group is very, very impressive. They performed a lot of the songs from the Amy and Willie Live CD. Great, great stuff.
Even saw a couple Taropatchers there. I'm off to zzzzz - it's 3:15am. TGIF, well it was F. |

Andy - I had every intention of catching the show in Chicago on Tuesday, despite the difficulty of making the 4 hour drive on a school night. My mom was going to chauffeur the kids around to their activities, I was going to get a bit of sleep at a local hotel and then get up in the wee hours to race back to Indy for a morning appointment that I couldn't reschedule, and I was going to bask in the sweet Hawaiian music that so rarely graces this area. However, my mom was admitted to the hospital last night with chest pain, had a heart attack while there, and underwent a stent placement this morning. She should be fine now, but obviously I will not be making it up to the show. I would deeply appreciate any good thoughts on her behalf as she makes her recovery.
I feel like I have emotional whiplash going from the fun of last weekend's kanikapila to the worry of this weekend's events. Yeesh. Not to complain, really - we are all so very grateful that things didn't go worse.
Love to all of my taropatch.net `ohana,
Debbie
