OK I see Paul and Cindy are there. I've got to ask - although I think I know the answer. Slack Key on Kauai without Doug McMaster? |

Here in the islands, we're 5 hours behind you when the mainland goes to daylight savings time.
New York can log on to the slack key festival on Sunday, anytime after 5PM. |

Listening to http://www.radiomargaritaville.com right now. 5pm to 11pm eastern time. This is great!
Anyone know if this will be archived somewhere? I do not have 6 free hours to listen so will undoubtedly miss most of it. |

Well that was mighty fine...
Just finished listening to the last few hours of the festival and it was certainly enjoyable, even with my punky old 56K modem connection.
There was an extra surprise in store... One of the announcers was none other than David Ossman (I thought the voice was familiar), of the famous/infamous Firesign Theatre! Makes me think of things like powerful gasoline, a clean windshield, and a shoeshine, OVER!... , not to mention More Science High, Betty-Joe-Bialowski and the Wall of Science.
" Man... Woman... ALL... are up against... THE WALL OF SCIENCE."

The show is (or will be) archived on this site: http://www.livefromkauai.org/
KKCR did a live broadcast of the Festival a couple of years ago, but we lacked the expertise (and equipment) to put it out as a 'net simulcast. Mahalo nui loa to David and Judith and their "cast of thousands" who came to Kaua`i, teamed up with Milton Lau and KKCR, and got this broadcast heard 'round the world. First time ever!
The place was packed -- and even though the air conditioning was weak (room temp felt like near-90), the crowd stayed solid to the bitter end. Great fun for everyone...audience, support team, and musicians.

Wow! That was great! Thanks, Auntie Maria for letting us know about this. I'm also glad to hear about the archived site because I missed some of it.
Mahalo, Mahalo - it sure made Kauai so much closer.
