Reid,
I found a little tool that allows me to "mirror" a website to a directory of my choice and have been doing just that for certian "high-value" websites. Then I burn them to CD to make a reference volume (limited to 700 megs though).
This tool warns about limiting the link-distance from the original url "if you do not limit the link distance you will mirror the entire web and so it may take a while and you will likely run out of disk space". ...
Will check your site now...
P.S. Tighter definitions for mid-high ?? These are intentionally vague phrases from the start. The tight definition is to specify the frequency or frequency range itself (like you did). For loudspeakers, the mid range is usually the same as what is accepted for vocal range: 250 to 500 Hz at the low to 2500 (or 3500 Hz to include the highest fundemental tone on the piano) at the high end of "mid". 80 (or 125) to 250 is usually referred to as mid-bass, 20 to 80 (or 125) as bass, 3500 to 20K (a broad range for sure) as highs, 3000 to 9000 (center at 6K) is "sibliance" range.
Sibilance you will want to know about, because you will get it on Sarah's vocals, especially if you put the mic real close. It is both a good thing and a bad thing. Some sibilance fed thru a silky reverb and remixed into the original can help give you a sound like Celene Dion for "Heart must go on - Titanic", but TOO much in the wrong places is quite disturbing.

That was just what was needed for everyone Lawrence, not just me. You did goood. Mahalo! Now, you wanna take on the other frequency defs., like "boxy", etc. :-) Actually, I learned a lot from Baggs' PADI instructions, too; the "boominess" in an amped guitar is right where they said it would be. As I get time, I'll post some details about that.
BTW, a "sound reinforcement" pro in Philly gave me a tip about finding that boom: sweep the freqs on the parametric eq while tapping the bridge (connected to an amp of course) and you will hear the tap boom suddenly go away at the correct freq. It confirmed Baggs' suggestion, which was not what I had originally thought would happen.

Actually Reid,
I prefer to refer to sound characteristics much like wine connoisseurs (literally: con-noise-sewers) do. Does your tweeter have a good "nose" and don't the woofers have a good "kick". Heh... Heh... Or visual phrases like "shimmering highs".
"Don't cha know your playing sounds like ball-bearings down a rain-chute!?". Ahh.. the creativity of man when he can't get a handle on a good description.

El Awrence, Effendi, I have had much the same bruit avec El Marko. The deal with wine terms, and I am a long term wino, is that they are similes. So, on peut comprendre le terminologie, parceque ils donnent la significance que la meme chose de l'originale. Is it not that which it is? Par example: cherry and raspberry on the nose with a similar flavor on the tongue with soft tannins and sparkling acidity, long legs (which beerheads call "lace") which makes it a perfect drink with carre d`agneau. You can smell and taste that. So it would be really good if sound guys could come up with similes that were as exact.
Now, graininess is *always* compared to graininess in photos. But, I can't hear that. In addition, in photos, graininess is created by a number of things. But, when it is described as Intermodulation Distortion, I can deal with that and look for it and try to prevent it or remove it. Comprenez vous? ( I use the formal, instead of le "tu" out of respect.)
Votre ami,
