I first posted this under "campain decision..." but either you beat that subject to death already, or nobody cares :((. Here goes again;

Guess what I got for my birthday today from my daughter and wife?!?!?!?
A trip, somewhere on the west coast, to a guitar workshop of my choice. In recent posts were mentioned Patrick Landeza in Seattle, and the possibility of something in Las Vegas in the fall. IS there a schedule for Patricks workshops? DO you have any concrete, or even plastic, plans for Lost Wages?
Is there anyone else out there planning a long weekend slack key workshop? I am really excited about this, hope someone has some ideas.
Maui and Molokai are tempting, but the deal says west coast, and i really cannot afford another full week away from work.

hi karl! what a great present!

i think that patrick is your man. you could send him a message and find out what his plans are. you could even try to schedule a set of lessons with him over a week and have your own mini-workshop! that's less fun from the kanikapila point of view, but i think one would learn more technical material that way.

i don't know mark nelson's schedule - he's a busy guy - but he's a great teacher too.

aloha,
keith

Karl, if you do come down, and are in L.A., OC, or San Diego let us know and we'll try to get a bunch of us to meet & greet, not to mention jam.
We'll all wear mittens, ( bunny slippers or Ugg boots) in your honor. yuk-yuk

Hey Karl, did she specify which west coast? There are a lot of west coasts in Hawaii.

Happy belated birthday.

My goal is to be able to play as well as people think I can.

Hi Karl!
I have to recommend going to something in California. The whole slack key 'ohana is wonderful, but the California gang, both Bay Area and Socal, are very hospitable and might offer more opportunities for kanikapila around whatever event you attend.
Patrick's workshops are great, but they will seem to be over too soon and other chances to play would be welcome.
My two cents,
Jesse Tinsley

Ooops, sorry..... hope you're enjoying that new baby!! I went down to San Diego last night for the HAPA concert - amazing, just amazing - more in another post. I was fortunate enough to stay with friends w/ a 2-week old baby - what fun!!
did you plant the ginger?
It's pouring here again - maybe you folks left the Seattle weather here when you came?
Hope to see you again soon.
