To San Diego & SoCal Slackers,
Sarona, the manager at L&L in Oceanside, has not only invited us back to the resturant for another open mike, but would like us to be regulars once-a-month as well. Great news!!
For March we will all need to agree on which Weds. may be the best date to attend, it has to be a Weds. That way we can get as many as possible. So let me know as soon as possible by my home phone or this site by Thursday, (3/3).
In addition, and still yet to be announced, Dusty would like to host the San Diego/SoCal members over to his house for a jam session as well. Once Dusty can get us a date, it will be posted...hope you all can attend. For any of you who have never been to Dusty's house, it is awesome. The place just inspires anyone to play music, with beautiful views of valleys, hills, and the pacific ocean. It is well worth the drive.

i'm out of town until march 22 - so, if you can wait that long, march 23 is open... might be too late in the month though.

| Maybe the 23rd would be a good day for L&L open mike, since Keith will be able to attend and Sarona really liked his singing. We could do the jam here next Wednesday night (3/9/05). We could do it again here sometime if you don't mind the drive. |

Ok, its settled, I'll contact Sarona for the 3/23rd meeting. Having Keith sing would be a very good incentive. If slack key songs could be hummed at concerts, I'd be a millionaire. ha ha.
I'd be in for the 9th Dusty, what about the rest of you guys?
I'm also still waiting from Kai, on a Friday night gig at Kealani's in O'side, stand-by for details on that.

Ok All,
Sarona has contacted me and we're good for the L&L open mic on Weds. MARCH 23rd. She has slotted 6:30-8:30pm and beyond, for us. This date will work out for our sole vocalist, Keith as well. ha ha
I'll present a very tiny-tiny surprise on the 9th.
Look forward to seeing you all at Dusty's on Mar 9th, and L&L on the 23rd.

Attention SDSKS, NEWSFLASH!!
Looks like March is shaping up to be a good month for kanikapila's for us. In addition to Dusty's place MARCH 9th, and open mic night at L&L on MARCH 23rd, I just recieved confirmation for a gig at Kealani's in Oceanside on Friday, MARCH 25th, 6-8pm We will need to bring our own sound system however. I believe Keith, Terry, or Don all have a pretty good sized, quality amp. So polish up your guitars, and file down your thumb picks... looks like we're going to be jamming pretty good y'all.
On a side note, we are being billed as Rik Nieves & Friends. No!, I didn't come with this, the owner did. I think because I booked it, he must of thought I could actually play. (little does he know..yuk-yuk)
Anyways, mark your calendars.
Yikes!! with all the kanikapilas, house sessions, and April's concerts, these next 60 days are going to full of great music.
