KAMEA (United States, 2004) Dir./Scr.: Jennifer Akana-Sturla Kamea, a teenage Hawaiian girl living on Oahu's North Shore, falls in love with Thomas, a cute surfer boy who's obsessed with Hawaiian surf legend Duke Kahanamoku. Kamea studies up on Duke to impress Thomas, but when her attempts to pique his interest fails she makes her own connection to Duke and gains a sense of self.

Bill's illustrious history, spanning more than 85 years as a musical pioneer and a charismatic entertainer in both the Hawai'ian islands and the mainland, serves as the backdrop to an unconventional friendship founded on an infectious love of Hawai'ian music and culture.
