It's true. I used a 'smiley'. Couldn't be helped though. I mean, I meant well and all, but it just happened. It was for Toki and Liko, so I figure it's justified.
I just know Dusty's gonna flame me now....

I'm not buying it. Obviously some beta unit has infiltrated Santa Cruz and replaced our beloved Cmdr. I could accept that an accidental flurry of keystrokes resulted in an inadvertent smiley placement, but to actually take responsibility for doing such a thing intentionally is highly suspicious. I suspect the work of an evil laptop....
Hmm, we'll just have to see if that Longboard is forthcoming at Camp. That will be the TRUE test of the veracity of this supposed Cmdr Piffle.
(hey - I have a confirmable history of smiley usage......)

OH, my gosh!!! Dusty, you're awesome. And actually, if the good Comander Piffle manages to get a longboard to Moloka'i along with all the other junk like guitar etc, I will truly be in awe... Boo - I have 2 long boards so stop in LA on one of your trips and we'll try them out.

Auwe! Sorry for the confusion Auntie. I am referring to the bottles of Longboard Lager made by Kona Brewing Company and which were enjoyed mightily at previous Camps. I am a big fan of the Longboard in a bottle, but while I appreciate the merits of the kind to which you refer, I fear that "trying one out" would result in gut-busting hilarity (for any onlookers, at least) in the best case and severe risk to life and limb in the worst case. Better that you try out my kind of Longboard, especially with those nifty Reef slippers you mentioned previously!

aloha Boo! OK, maybe we try out longboards in surf after having many bottled longboards... I no longer have the figure, energy or coordination I had when I could legitimately call myself a surfer... Thanks for straightening me out....

Boo, I was making plans to come to LA and get you on film on the longboard! I have a great new camera and was ready to put up the photos on this site. When will you arrive in LA?

Hey Boo! are you stopping in LA? If it's on the way to Camp, I won't be here, but any other time, it'd be fun to have you stay. I'm leaving Tues 14th, won't be home 'til Wed July 6th - unless I don't find a place to stay on Maui that last weekend. I was invited to stay with a friend in Kihei last March so gave up a condo I had, and he renigged last Friday because his wife wanted private time..... I'm hoping a couch shows up somewhere - I've seen them on front porches...
WooHoo, I'm sure looking forward to meeting you and so many other "family"!!!

Yikes! No, LA has never been in the plans - I fly in and out if Indy via Houston. However, since things are looking grim as far as my getting back to Hawai`i next year, perhaps I'll see if I can't talk Kem into letting me loose on the west coast for a week. The SoCal/NoCal Islandboo summer tour or some such. Wouldn't that be fun?
I leave next Thursday for Honolulu (18 hours in transit so I arrive exhausted but elated....) and return Monday June 27. Not nearly as long as I had hoped, but I plan on enjoing every moment.
A hui hou!!! (so soon!)
