Aloha folks,
I just want to plant the taro seed early into all of you slackers pickers and other tropical tradition lovers...
As we did last year, we will have another kanikapila at the La Honda Gardens starting at noon on Sunday Sept. 18. At 2 pm Bwop & the Wing Ohana takes the stage and gets everyone warmed up for Ledward Ka'apana at 3 pm for Aloha in the Redwoods. Hula dancers will perform as well.
Kanikapila starts at noon. Bring your ukuleles, guitars, hula skirts, Hawaiian shirts, and join with friends new and old beneath the majestic redwoods here in beautiful "Aloha La Honda."
Since Aloha in the Redwoods is a fundraiser for our local school's La Honda Educational Foundation, we ask that all kanikapila participants please purchase a ticket for the concert. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the gate. Keikis under 12 are FREE! Tickets will be available soon at various locations, TBA.
NOTE: we offer discount tickets to groups of 20 or more...20% off for hula halaus, realtors, corporate or other groups. Buy 20 tickets together in a single transaction and receive the discount ~ whatever your group!
As always, we will be selling wonderful kalua pork plate lunches at Aloha in the Redwoods for $10. The food is provided by Ono Hawaiian Grill of Half Moon Bay! (This really helps with our fundraising so please have your bellies ready too...) And for those who don't eat meat, we hope to have vegetarian options available too this year.
Please email me on or off line if you have questions or suggestions...we like to make this special for everyone, so please don't hesitate to make contact.
