Chordie, http://www.chordie.com/, has been around for several years, reformatting the guitar "tab" (lyrics and chords) that can be found all over the internet and displaying the chord grids for each song. Per Egil Kummervold, the brains behind Chordie, recently upgraded his site to include chord grids for 4-stringed instruments, including UKULELE in C and D tuning. Baris, you can use the guitar grids. Per also covers banjo and mandolin.

But wait, there's more. You can transpose the key of the song. You can ask for chord grids in different inversions, up the neck. Lefties, you can get left-handed grids. You can collect a bunch of songs into a song book. You can print good looking copies of the songs with the chord grids.

If you know of a site with songs you'd like to see added to Chordie, for instance he only has two Iz songs, try asking Per to include it. Maybe he can point his indexing machine there. He has an email address to report bugs, like a lack of Hawaiian songs sites. You'll have to find the sites for him, though.

As you can see, I think it's a very cool site. I'm cross-posting this on several forums.

Concept looks great .. but is this site a bit buggy? I selected Iz's "Over the Rainbow", saw the guitar tab and when I pulled down "ukulele C tuning" on the right hand side, it came back with a "no file ID" message and that was it. Do I need to have logged in, etc.?

Me ke aloha,

Same thing happened to me, PuaLynn. I sent an e-mail to the site and they asked for clarification on my browser, OS, etc. I sent the info and we'll see. Are you, by chance, using a Mac OS, with Safari or Firefox browser?

I just heard from Per--he found the problem and it looks as if it's been corrected. At least it works for me ; )

I also passed on a few links for Hawaiian song sites and the request for more Hawaiian...
