Personally, I prefer to play or attend venues with more than one band or soloist. I think throughout the years I've developed a short attention span immediate gratification brain. Hmmmmm or maybe I always had one... |

"We kinda Hijacked Ray Sowders original post did'nt we?? "
Actually I'm trying to find something for Ray in Vegas while he is here. As well as a few other artist that have contacted me for gigs in December.
A bunch of you Taro Patchers should rent a Bus, get on your horse, swamp Southwest with reservations, start walking now, or get a bike and come over for "The Great MaiNland Kanikapila" I'm sure we could rustle up some talent and have big time classes, performance's and an overall great time if enough folks are interested.

Eric You come I'll make sure you have good seats. October 21st, Dennis Kamakahi, Cyril Pahinui, Patrick Landeza, Gary Haleamau with the Una Mau Band, and the dancers of Halau Hula O Kaleimomi. One big show in the beautiful Hanneman Hall in Sun City Anthem, located in Henderson Nevada. (10 min from LV airport) |

I'll set it up anytime. Well Ray will be here in December and I think Jeff Peterson would be available and I imagine some other notables would come. The trick is there needs to be a show of hands on who thinks they can come.
What do you all think about a house concert at my place. |

Awesome, Dude!!! Now can we have the 'Jamma party?? Maggie will be here and maybe Kiwini the week between Christmas and New Years... getting there wouldn't be too big a stretch, I don't think. I finally have a new car that I actually trust to go that far! Miss you!! We're going to Dusty's tomorrow night - wish you were there. n |

Eh Don!
If something is going on between Christmas and New Year's, I bet we can sneak a visit from L.A. to LV. However, it will depend on the day/eve etc. It will be great to finally meet you and other TP'ers from down there! Please keep us posted, ok?

I would be interested in coming out for that kind of shindig - the main thing for me would be plenty of advance notice to make sure I can arrange for child care and kid activities to get covered in my absence (and to increase the odds of getting a decent plane fare...)
Me ke aloha,

Aloha Boo!! Maggie will be here that week. Tenatively, we have kani ka pila here in MB on Wed PM, there is a great group of Ukulele folks Tuesdays in Huntington beach (easy drive, great group) that we are planning on. If Don does get something together, we plan to hop in the car and jam over - you're welcome to join us - also, have lots of room to stay here if you'd like. Aloha nui!! n |

WOW, I haven't come out of my cave recently, because I'm trying to grow up someday and become a real web guy...like Andy! Been working on my new site that will be up by November...and look at all the fun I've been missing! I have no idea where best to start...so here goes! First of all it's great just to see all the heart felt dialog about slack key. Can you just feel the love? Personally, I appreciate everybodys input. Don has been very honest and helpful, trying to put something together while I'm in town. In this music world I don't expect much of anything, but call me a dreamer if you will...I'm game for whatever comes up, even a "we'll have you perform next time kid". Man, I'm not sure I could draw 2 people to create an argument! So, we will see what the future brings, and just roll with the punches. It probably would be better if there was a "multiple artist" thing, that way we can at least watch each other! In all honesty, I love slack key and if there is anything that comes along, me and my slippers will be there. Hope to meet all of you folks someday. Aloha Pumehana, Ray |

When you have your trip plans set, let us know. If it weren't for the price of gas, I'd jump in the car in a heartbeat and head over there to hear you play. Enjoy!! it's all good = n |

Trip plans are set; I arrive in Las Vegas December 23rd early in the morning, and leave the 29th in the morning as well. The trip is short and sweet, I am meeting my sister from Florida "half way" for a Christmas visit, and she has a time share we will stay at. My family used to be very close, and holidays were always a time to be together. Over the past several years my other siblings and my mom passed away. These things just happen sometimes, all families experience this sooner or later. So my one sister and I have committed to trying to visit as much as we can. Last year just before Christmas I did a concert in Florida (real close to where my sister lives) where a kumu friend of mine sponsored me in for the event. She taught a hula seminar where the attendees learned 2 of my songs and we all performed together the following day. My wife did a lei making class, and it was a lot of fun. Some of my wifes family from Michigan came down and it was a great holiday party. My family is used to my "musical activities" and is very supportive...I am very grateful for that! So, we will have a great time what ever comes our way! Funny thing is ...I don't even gamble! I have never even dropped a coin into a slot machine. I'm a cheap date in Vegas! Ray |

Due to Christmas It looks like the only dates available would be 27Th or 28th. Still interested? we need to firm up one of those dates. There is a large number of folks coming into LV for New Years so rooms may not be readily available unless reservations are made quickly.
Let me know
